Day 2 of Trying Cold Showers

This is going to be a sporadic series about my cold shower experiences that I take to relieve muscle soreness from cycling. So far, I took two and my honest impression is that  it was not as bad as I thought at all. I was even excited to continue this habit daily, because it actually works so far! As proof,  I was able to cycle 70 km and 74 km on the two consecutive days I took them without feeling as sore as I felt when I cycled 20 km. I usually begin washing myself completely with warm water and soap before transitioning to cold water for one minute or two roughly. The lowest temperature the water can get is 14C. I could take ice baths during winter when it snows or dive in an almost frozen lake, but during summer, I will stick to cold showers. I am still curious as to how much better ice baths would be for my muscles though.

(Update as of August 2023: I still take cold shower, but I discontinued blogging about it. I don’t really have much to say beyond this article lol. )
